The Women & Family Department of Jamiyah
Singapore celebrated the first year anniversary of the department’s, Diva
Wellness Connect (Diva), last Saturday, 8th April 2017 at the
Some 200 women from various organisations
including Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) and People’s
Association’s Women Integrated Network (WIN) gathered for ‘Brunch with Diva’
where they discussed on issues relating to women and how women can make a
difference in their lives and the community.
The attendees were divided into groups of 10,
and each group was headed by a facilitator, consisted of power women who have
made a difference in their respective fields like Dr Priya Kamat, Homeopath
Doctor, Ms Zarina Yusof, Associate Director (Programmes) from Temasek
Foundation and Ms Violet Lim, CEO of Lunch Actually.
Ms Claire Chiang, Senior Vice President of
Banyan Tree Holdings, who is also the Advisor and Ambassador of Diva, was
present as moderator for the discussion. She was honoured at the event with a
bouquet of flowers for her recent success in achieving top accolade at
MediaCorp’s Women Entrepreneur Award.
Minister of State, Ministry of Finance & Ministry of Law, Ms Indranee Rajah
graced the event as Guest-of- Honour. In her speech, Ms Indranee highlighted
the importance of believing in one’s self as the key to success.
